1917 Steinway Pianola Themodist Upright Player Piano

This is totally rebuilt Steinway Player piano in original showroom condition. Steinway did not build many of these instruments because they thought of themselves as the 'Grand House', but due to the immense popularity of the player piano in the day, they contracted with Aeolean and made the Pianola Themodist Player Piano.
One of the rare features of this particular instrument is that the entire cabinet was made with fire-grain mahogany wood, which is virtually extinct today. Refinished it is quite beautiful. This Steinway also is a Themodist player which means that it incorporates the sustain pedal & soft pedal features while also offering the player the ability to manually use the 'soft or piano' functions. The original pump bellows were still intact which is rare for most players of this era because they were gutted during the 50's & 60's.

This piano also comes with an original first edition 1906 Aeolean leather bound roll book listing all of the rolls manufactured up to that time and the original ads that were featured from that day.
